Since 2014, our mission has been simple: to craft adventure essentials that combine practicality with timeless beauty, all from our small workshop in Dorset, UK.

Frustrated by the overpriced, brand-driven market, we decided to do things differently. By being involved in every stage—from design and production to marketing and shipping—we ensure that each piece is meticulously crafted, offering premium quality without the inflated cost.

Amelia is the creative force behind Leatherback Design. With a degree in Contemporary Crafts from Falmouth University and a passion for making, she’s been drawn to the durable and versatile nature of leather since her first job hand-sewing leather around metal door handles. She brings a unique blend of artistry and practicality to every design.

During lockdown, Amelia further honed her craft, completing a leatherworking course and investing in an industrial sewing machine, allowing her to expand the range and quality of Leatherback Design’s offerings. Her hands-on approach ensures that every item is crafted with care, attention to detail, and a love for the process.
